Plans, operations, and intentions

Indeed. I just think we should factor in the fact that smart people in Kaldor will have drawn some of the same conclusions about the likely arc of Arren II's conquests as we have. A lot has changed in a year with the invasion of Orbaal, and it might be a mistake to assume the atmosphere will be identical. Travelers coming west along the Salt Route might be informative in this regard.

I presently lean toward going in openly as knights and spendthrifts. Who knows, perhaps some of us will be both? 8)

I have heard the secret to lying is keeping as close to the truth as possible. The travelling openly seems to be a good course to me.

All of this begs the really important question. Will Sir Baris bring "THE ARMOR"? On the one hand, who would be like to be without something like this. On the other, who brings a full suit of plate to go visiting another country? I am sure they are somewhat touchy about Thardans, with the track record of the mainland Parkhurst family who wouldn't be. You also do not wish to fan the flames and goad him into action, I believe that trade is vital to the kingdom and merchants are not usually willing to go into a war zone. Imare waits with anticipation the answer to Sir Baris' dilema.

THE ARMOR, I suspect, will be brought, carefully packed and protected, rarely to be seen, never to be worn. Except maybe pieces of it. Or if the balloon goes up - then we'll see Sir Baris in all his glory!

Maybe Sir Baris could recoup some of his expenses by having advertising on the armor. Things like "Derine's, Finest girls in Golotha" or "Karl's, the better Rat-traps".

I must also ask Sir Ewen that, if he is changing his character orientation, is he going to update his armor (I advise not all plate)?

I suspect he plans to stick with girls.

If I were suggesting that I would have suggested he move into leather, not out of it.

I wonder where you can get capri-style leggings in Golotha?

Seriously, though, some sort of upgrade has its appeal, but I'll leave the Abrams tank routine to Sir Baris. At the very least, ditching the round shield is a must, as the thing is clearly beneath my dignity. A knight's shield suitably adorned with the new arms is hard to resist; after all, where's the fun in knighthood without one of these? But I'll try to restrain myself from festooning Arnys and Elsa in livery

I dunno - they'd look a bit like beefeaters. That's a good thing, right?

The headgear would have to be a custom job - not in the budget 8)

My intention was not the Abrams route (hence the "no plate" comment). I was thinking along the vein of chain or scale so you can go out and play with the big boys.

Oh, agreed. Although I struggle to recall an occasion where I shrank from boys of any size. Talk to me when you've partied with Agrikans, lady

Hey, I've taken a keep from vikings. Both ladies in your company were in on that. Being an open and overt knight seemingly carries the need to have armor of a metalic kind. Image and all that. Oh, and by the way, I did party with Agrikans, thats where Imare invented the midget toss.

OK, well said. I'll cede the point regarding the bravery of the ladies :-#

Speaking of knightly image, though, I wonder whether there will be any Spring tourneys to enter over in Kaldor? I can't see Baris missing an opportunity, and Ewen would be loath to stand by watching from some shaded pavillion...

Imare will hang out in the shaded pavillions. Would have to go and get day wear however...
