Some common knowledge about events in the Ivinian world from 720-730.

Ibanvaal

The Dagen Osidar resumed his war against Menglana, attacking Froyaheim in 721. Despite the lack of support from the King of Menglana, the Storzars of Froyaheim were able to beat back the attack, as well as the next one in 723. In that year, Hlanakar III died, and his successor, King Aidric came to the aid of the Storzars, succesfully defending the vathran against the invaders. A shaky peace has endured since then, but as Ibanvaal still holds Froyby, a resumption of hostilities is expected.

Menglana

The aged and stubborn King Hlanakar III died in 723 (some say he had assistance) and most expected him to be succeeded by his ablest son, Branwaal. However, the Storzar clan had gained much prestige with their tenacious defense of their lands. When they threw their support to Branwaal's older brother Aidric, it was enough to secure him the throne. He immediately returned the favor by announcing he would support the Storzar's in the war against Ibanvaal, rallying many of the clans of the kingdom. Widely viewed as a tool of the Storzar's, many in the kingdom viewed the apparent end of the Stahler - Storzar feud with relief.

In recent years, King Aidric has shown much favor to his younger cousin Jansen Stahler, whom many say is the most able of the next generation of the family. He is widely seen as the heir apparent, despite King Aidric's two sons.

Seldenbaal

The present Pendragon of Seldenbaal was heard to say, "Sarajin has given us the Dragon Throne, let us enjoy it." This he has done, and his good relations with Harbaal and Jarenmark have granted him the peace to do it. The Pendragondom has increased its share of trade in these years, and some enterprising clans have even abandoned the longboats in favor of the Shorkyni dak.

Rogna

Rogna has continued to raid Menglanan settlements, and occasionally Gelemaar, but they have been unable to do extensive damage or take control of any major thrans.

Harbaal

In 727, King Tralis of Harbaal died, and was succeeded by his son Lerden. Among the most powerful Ivinian realms, Harbaal comprises twelve different kingdoms, all of whom recognize the King of Harbaal as their overlord and Pendragon. King Tralis' policy of encouraging unity has paid off, and King Lerden inherited a strong, powerful kingdom. Most expect him to flex his power - soon.

Alagon

The Duchy of Alagon, a semi-independent principality of the Kingdom of Shorkyne, is ruled by the powerful Rumath Pelanby. Years ago in 709, the Duke of Alagon consented to the marriage of one of his daughters to a Prince of Melderyn. His grandson now rules the Kingdom of Tharda as Arren II. This has helped elevate the prestige of the Duchy, and the Pelanby family in general. The Duke made a state visit to Tharda in early 730.
