Azura 29, 730 - Hoeg Village

The Public Area for the PBF

A look of terror comes over Colm as Igon speaks. "No great lord," he stammers, dropping to his knees. Rory does so as well. "We be but simple folk. We collect wood for out master to make charcoal. We know of no men taken - we do not defy our lords."

Jorst stands ready to intervene if he feels his relatives are becoming over zealous. In his view these are clearly simple peasant folk...

Igon nods.. "Very well. Be about your duties." He turns to his kinsmen... "lets be off unless there is more you would ask of these?"
"We must drive the evil from our lands!"

Ulauf grabbing Rori by the shoulder says "What can you tell us of Quaim?"

On listening to his answer Ulauf says "Tell no one of this meeting lest the Master of Araka-Kalai send his fell minions to devour your eyes! Do you understand?"

Then when out of earshot Ulauf turns to his companions and says "Now if they decide that they cannot offer us their loyalty then those that will look for us shall be looking in the wrong place."

Fear in his eyes, Rory stammers that he knows nothing of Quiam - they're not allowed to cut wood beyond the lands of Hijm. The two Jarin quickly reload the cart with wood, missing a few smaller pieces in their haste to be away. Colm whacks the poor donkey hard with a piece, and the two head off to the northeast.

Presently, the Seld warband resumes its trek, and not long after, they come around a small wooded area. With the sun low in the western sky, there ahead of them in the distance is a huge rocky bluff, upon which stands an imposing castle. The sun's rays cast a shadow before the castle, dark in relief to the nimbus of light around the commanding fortress.

With this, Hoeg comes to an end. I shall shortly open a new thread for the arrival at Tandir.
