Do you bypass the lone house? If so, then how far up the treeline to you go? Do you stay together, spilt, etc.

If you don't bypass the house, what do you do there?

As Lord Igons seems to approuve Laenvan goes up with Erdrick to the post assigned by Ulauf. Already on the way up he checks for any ambush and stays as much out of sight as possible. He tries to keep Lord Igon in his eyesight to rush to his aid at a moments notice should the need arise.

Laenvan - are you walking straight through town to the high ground on the other side or are you walking straight up to the castle to that high ground?

Let's clarify before anyone does anything.

I asume we are still south of that 1st house that is on the west side of the road? If so we should hit the tree line before we get near the home.

also what kind of movment do we see in the village? Can we see the glint of armour? Or does it look like peasant rags?

Yes, you're still south of the lone house. Note also Ulauf's new suggestion in the Moot.

The people you see are clearly peasants.

Igon gives the nod to Ulauf after he lays out his plan, loosens his sword and waits until everyone else is in position before making his way up the road.

The warband begins to move in towards the town, Igon and Jorst on the road, Laenvan and Erdrick to the right, Ulauf to the left, and Vagnar and Sven checking the house. The latter is empty, and has the appearance of a woodsman's cottage, though some of the furniture is broken and overturned, suggesting a struggle of some sort took place here. They join Ulauf on the left.

Suddenly, a horn sounds - two long blasts followed by three short ones and then two more long ones. The warband stops. For the first time, the villagers up ahead seem to notice them, and quickly gathering children, run for the cottages.

The warband has reached the top of the stand of trees, and can just see the northern field. The peasants there are fleeing as well. Next?

Where did the horn sound from (if we can tell), the village or futher near the keep?

Either way I would sugest we all move towards the tree line on the west side, or at least Laenvan and Erdrick, who are hanging with little cover on the right.

Other than that we try to get a look at the keep to see if any type of gaurd or patrol is coming out of it. If nothing comes out we should halt at the northern edge of the tre line to check the situation out before entering (if at all) the village.

Ulauf waves for the warband to join him on the left.

Once everyone has seen his signal Ulauf moves into the trees and heads north towards the keep keeping inside the treeline finishing his run near the eastern end of the western stand of trees.

Once the group has joined him (if they have followed) he tells the archers to get ready to cover the walls of the keep.

Sven and Vagnar keep watch to our rear just in case we are surprised from that direction.

Ulauf turns to Igon and says "Do the southrons use horns for communication as we do or do they prefer drums and the like."

Ulauf will take up a position behind a tree on one knee with an arrow nocked and ready to fire. Scanning the hill line between the keep and the road.

Through the initial confusion, the warband gathers to the left, and takes position near the tree line at the southwest corner of the town. There are trees and light scrub before them, but the warband is content in their cover.

Horns are not known to be a southron tactic, and Laenvan confirms this. The horn heard by the warband seems to have come from nearby - perhaps one of the trees. Meanwhile, soldiers sally forth from the keep and apparently from the North Common and organize on the road immediately south of the North Common. There are bowmen and light foot and a group of medium foot. All of them wear tunics of brown, and clearly attempt a level of discipline.

There are at least ten bowmen, and twenty or so light foot, and perhaps 5 of the others. Through the sparse trees they can be seen forming up on the field to the east of the keep.

They are not Thardan troops - they are Jarin.

Igon smirks.. "Well, it looks like rebels have taken up residence here... that will have to be dealt with, but not today. Let us retire and go around... we'll not get a welcoming reception here. If we can get back in time perhaps the princes will be able to muster a force strong enough to take the caer, especially with nothing but untrained Jarin holding it."
