Lyrics:

As it fell out upon one day, King Andasin made a feast
And he’s invited all his lords, and gentry of the best
Then Palliser he seated him down and down and down by Andasin’s board
Oh worthy king suffer counsel wise in arraying your noble lords
There art none of my noblemen, Palliser, would dare raise up hand against me
Our weighty crown and our good renown will all maketh them steadfastly

Then Palliser he seated him down and down and down by Andasin’s hand
I pray your grace suffer counsel wise in arraying your noble land
There art none of my barons, Sir Palliser, would dare threaten this new-forged realm
All will come to me on a benden knee and give tribute of sword and helm

Then Palliser he seated him down and down and down by Andasin’s throne
O worthy liege suffer counsel wise in apportioning of your own
There art none of my noblemen, Palliser, would dare taketh up arms against me
Tis in my gift to raise gentlemen high in this our own fair country

Then Andasin he called for his loyal page, and his pen it flew speedily
This noble king’s let his will be known to all great men of high degree
And his loyal page then away went he, for to publish his master’s will
A tribute due, to his subjects rue, from the lord of each hold and hill

As it fell out upon one day, King Andasin sickened and died
His belted earls and his counselors wise, they all gathered them by his side
Then Palliser he looked upon them all, for to see what that good king wrought
Of great men raised high and of princes nigh and all things that wise counsel sought
Rise up, rise up all you noblemen, take account of your fortunes’ turn
You of high renown, look to those cast down, and take heed of keen envy’s burn
