Thanks - I'll pass it along to the artist.

My girlfriend does most of the work - we jointly design the achievement and then she renders them in Photoshop. She also did the Arms of Tharda that you see above and on my avatar. For other examples, you can go to the memberlist and look at Bevan and Sir Baris.

Clan Seld took us more time to decide on the look. The wolf's head is the original Seld arms, and the arm is Ranulff's. We probably changed the colors three or four times before we both liked it. Actual rendering there was simple - fifteen to twenty minutes. (She already has templates and a stock of heraldic clip art she works with.)

Raldar was a little longer because she had to create the border from scratch to fit the Ivinian-style shield. That one took about 30 minutes.

A simple achievement like the Earl of Westmarch can be knocked off in five to ten minutes, although he was already done long ago. Basically, heraldry for Jara Rising has so far taken about an hour.

Does your girlfriend do much work in the heraldric field or is it more of a hobby/interest?

Ironically, it's how she got into gaming. She has training in graphic design, and saw some of my 'work,' and offered to improve on it. I should say she did, and has since learned to do Harn-style maps, interiors, heraldry, and various forms. Somewhere along the way, she decided she wanted to get in on a session, and has been involved ever since. I may just have to keep her ...

I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Drop me an e-mail with the description, the style you'd like, crest, etc.

I've recently made reference to a heraldic achievement with two gold dolphins hauriant on a field of blue. Here are the arms:
