You all have one. In the case or Sirs Ewen and Baris, two. Only one horse is named - Iblis, the special Khanset mare.
Well, Cekiya's horse is obviously named Daffodil. Step up to the plate all of you and name your horse(s). Who wants to be an Eagles song? |

Hindsight being now tempered with impunity, I'll name my warhorse Mascle.
BTW, the song you are thinking of was actually a hit for the band America in 1972. Don't believe the Eagles ever covered it, but the tune does certainly sound like them. As we were both seven at the time, no points should be deducted on this one though... |

| The temptation arises for Sir Ewen to record "I've been through the tourney on a horse with no name", but somwhow I think I'll resist the urge. |

It might help somewhat if we knew what gender said mounts were, mare or gelding. I would hate to call a male horse "Buttercup", he might take it amiss... _________________ "Hello Sir Baris. Come and play with us. Come and play with us, Sir Baris. Forever... and ever... and ever." |

Sir Ewen's warhorse is a mare now named "Mascle." He also has a Khanset mare named "Iblis."
Sir Baris's warhorse is a stallion.
To my knowledge, no other horses have been sexed, and so may be mares or geldings at the owner's whim. Of course, once chosen, forever branded.
Good grief, this is my 2000th post! What that says about my verbosity on my own forum is perhaps best left lying in the road, steaming and stinking like ... Well, you get the idea. |

Matt, you mentioned we knew the names of some medieval horses, so I went out in search of them. According to Wikipedia, Streiff was the name of the horse of Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. Streiff is a pretty cool sounding name for a horse, so I'm going to go with that. Also, according to this , the horse was pretty tough. _________________ If it doesn't fit, bend it. Streiff it is. Like Commanche, he apparently lives on after a fashion. |

I like it too. And much better than an ass named Brunellus. |

Imare's horse, after discussion, has delusions of grandeur. He wishes to be called Shadowfax (shamelessly taken from Tolkein). _________________ "Hello Sir Baris. Come and play with us. Come and play with us, Sir Baris. Forever... and ever... and ever." |

OK, after some additional research, I've come to realize that mares and geldings are not used for warhorses. Therefore, Sir Ewen's warhorse Mascle, is by the magic of the GM fiat, transformed into a stallion. Talk about needing to grow a pair ... |

I really don't believe most of us would have ever caught that. Thanks for the honesty though, it can be a refreshing experience in these modern times (non-campaign related). I personally am not going to check the way my father looked for she-crab. Makes one wonder if "oh lord it's hard to be humble is on Itunes... _________________ "Hello Sir Baris. I am entirely sanguine about this development. Probably was only mentioned during the tournament, so only a very close reader of the notes will notice anything jarring. |

After discussion with Van I have decided that my horses name will be "Abelron". (I think that is how it is spelled). Van thought it was amusing. _________________ "Hello Sir Baris. Come and play with us. Come and play with us, Sir Baris. Forever... and ever... and ever." |
